About Us

ROCKiT Community Arts is an all volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for artists & audiences on Beacon Hill. All genres and mediums are welcome! If you would like more information on what ROCKiT can do for you or what you can do for ROCKiT, please let us know!


ROCKiT Community Arts 2012 list of completed projects

1.      Tots Jam  – 9:30am-10:30am El Centro de la Raza, room 309  weekly preschool movement & music circle for families

2.       ROCKiT Songwriters Circle – monthly second Sunday 1-3pm at Betty Jean & Jay’s home. Support development of original music by listening and giving supportive feedback.

3.       Folk Club – monthly first Sunday 7pm Garden House    Concert Series: Spring Season April, May June(taking a break July & August)Fall Season Starts with a Barn dance September 9th, then concerts first Sundays Oct-Dec.

4.       Family Free For All  – 4-6pm, Garden House monthly third Tuesday Family Social Play time with arts and performance April-Sept

5.       Beacon Hill Festival – Saturday 11am-4pm June 4 Jefferson Community Center & Park facilitate entertainment for free neighborhood festival.

6.       Beacon Rocks! – 1-5pm Last Sunday each month June 24, July 29, August 26 Free outdoor summer Concert Series at Roberto Maestas Festival Street.

7.       Jefferson Park Jubilee – noon – 9pm Saturday July 14th Jefferson Park grand opening Celebration assisting with dedication, entertainment and family activities from 11-4pm only.

8.       Beacon Bards – Second Wednesday each month starting Sept 21. Poetry Reading hosted by Martha Silano, Free at the Station Coffee Shop 2533 16th Ave S

9.       Garden House Blues Series hosted and promoted by Marlee Walker. Third Fridays starting September 21 –Dec. Pending coming to financial terms

10.   Book Release for “Don’t Leave your Friends Behind” at Garden House Nov 12,2012.

11.   “String” Object theatre for the very young – 5 performances for 200 preschool students in Nov & 3 public performances in Dec 2012.

12.    “Save the Whale!”, movie and repair of antique whale weather vane, soon to be returned to the roof of Garden House.
